Senior Product Designer (Translation, AI Products) — DeepL, London, UK
DeepL — the global AI language platform trusted by 200,000+ business customers and millions of individuals across 228 markets — is hiring a Senior Product Designer in London. Founded in 2017 and backed by Benchmark, IVP, and Index Ventures, DeepL has around 1,000 employees building human-like translation, improved writing, and real-time voice translation.
The Role & Impact
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the translation experience at the heart of DeepL — a product used at global scale. Working in a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment, you'll drive design from discovery through to measuring impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams that include engineers and researchers.
What You'll Do
- Gather and evaluate requirements with cross-functional team members
- Communicate design concepts early and often, backed by qualitative insights and quantitative data
- Deliver prototypes, final design specifications in Figma, and make small code changes in production
- Share responsibility for maintaining and expanding the design system
- Drive design throughout the whole lifecycle of an idea — discovering problems, defining success, evaluating solutions, and measuring impact
- Use AI to support your work — from design assets to prototypes (the team works with Claude Code)
What We Look For
- 4+ years in product teams providing design solutions for web applications
- A strong understanding of user-centred design processes
- Experience designing for B2B audiences with a great eye for design (B2C experience is a bonus)
- The ability to use qualitative and quantitative insights to guide your design process
- Confidence owning and co-owning design artefacts in Figma
- Experience working on a product at scale with global presence
- Fluent English (any other language, e.g. German, is an advantage)
