Compliance Officer (KYC & Sanctions) — Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
About the Opportunity
Lean Technologies is hiring a Compliance Officer to join its growing team in Riyadh. Lean is at the forefront of Saudi Arabia's nascent Open Banking sector, and this is a rare chance to build out the local Compliance function while the company scales fast across MENA.
Lean has tripled in size over the past twelve months — and is on track to triple again. What started as the region's pioneering Open Finance platform is now becoming a multi-product infrastructure company powering payments, data, and lending across the region. The company has processed billions of dollars in transactions, is trusted by 350+ clients (from Tabby and Tas'heel to HungerStation), and is backed by General Catalyst, Sequoia, and Shorooq — with a $67.5M Series B behind it.
The Role & Impact
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you'll help safeguard a business that moves serious volume every day. Your remit spans the full client lifecycle — from onboarding through ongoing monitoring — and you'll play a hands-on role in shaping how compliance is done as the company enters new markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform KYC collection, validation, and remediation tracking for clients and partners
- Manage client onboarding: questionnaires, documentation review, and follow-ups
- Conduct screening — Sanctions, PEP, and adverse media checks — plus verification and client risk assessments
- Maintain accurate, complete KYC records in compliance systems
- Support daily monitoring of limits and compliance workflows
What You Bring
- Experience operating in regulatory compliance within the Saudi fintech ecosystem
- A sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and comfort with regulatory frameworks (SAMA-related exposure is a plus)
- The drive to grow into a bigger compliance remit as the local function expands
If you're looking to cement your skills in a role where you can genuinely grow, this is a strong opportunity.
