GetYourGuide's Localization team makes travel experiences accessible and compelling for millions of travelers worldwide — and they're hiring a Senior Localization Specialist focused on Language Quality & AI to own the strategy for evaluating language quality and testing/training AI models at scale.
About the Opportunity
This is a project-based role where you'll lead 1–3 major initiatives each quarter. You'll decide how machine translation and AI models are evaluated, trained, and combined with human review so that every piece of content resonates authentically across GetYourGuide's global marketplace. Expect a blend of strategic thinking, data-driven rigor, and hands-on experimentation.
Your Mission
- Evaluate and train MT/AI models to continuously improve output across content types, with clear recommendations on model effectiveness
- Define the right allocation between MT/AIPE and human translation/review to hit quality goals
- Design scalable quality measurement workflows, including integrations with TranslatedOS and automation
- Measure and report language quality across 36+ languages and multiple content types (product, marketing, inventory) and establish benchmarks
- Analyse quality data — error patterns and more — and translate insights into business impact across markets
- Partner with Engineering and Quality Account Managers to align on MT architecture decisions
Your Toolkit
- 3+ years evaluating and optimising MT and AI models for a tech company with large global reach
- Experience with prompt engineering and fine-tuning LLMs for translation tasks
- Strong technical knowledge of localization: TMS platforms, quality evaluation frameworks, automation tools, translation memories, style guides, and glossaries
- Ability to design scalable systems using methods like MTQE, AI LQA, and human review
- High autonomy in fast-paced, ambiguous settings with a test-and-learn mindset
An edge: passion for AI-first workflows, familiarity with TranslatedOS, computational linguistics background, or hands-on translator experience.
