Senior Technical Writer (Data & SDK Documentation) — JetBrains, Berlin/Munich
About JetBrains
JetBrains builds the developer tools used by millions — and inside the company, many teams rely on shared data and tooling to build products, improve AI solutions, run marketing, manage finances, and track sales. The Data Office makes those resources easy to find, understand, and use.
The Role
We're looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join the Data Office and create clear, structured documentation for data, metrics, tools, and services — data catalogs, metrics documentation, user guides, SDK documentation, and UI text. This is a role for someone who takes ownership: leading documentation projects, improving processes, supporting contributors, and mentoring junior writers. Locations include Berlin, Munich, and Remote-Germany, among other JetBrains hubs.
What You'll Do
- Write and maintain high-quality documentation for data tools, datasets, metrics, and SDKs
- Take ownership of a documentation area end to end — structure, accuracy, and usability
- Work docs-as-code: Markdown/XML, version control with Git, and modern doc tooling
- Mentor junior writers and raise the quality bar across the department
- Improve processes with templates, automation, scripts, and AI tools
- Optimize content for both human readers and AI-based discovery and reuse
What You Bring
- Extensive writing experience in software, IT, or data-related domains
- A strong technical foundation and understanding of software development workflows
- Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, developer tools, data tools, or complex systems
- Excellent English writing skills — you explain complex topics with clarity and empathy
- A proactive, independent working style with strong collaboration instincts
Why Join?
JetBrains offers the rare mix of engineering depth and creative freedom — plus the chance to shape how one of the world's most respected tool makers understands its own data. Fully remote-friendly within Germany and Europe, with a culture that values craftsmanship.
