Social Creative Lead, Real-Time & Reactive — Airbnb's Culture-at-Speed Role (SF)
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home — and has since grown to over 5 million hosts and 2 billion guest arrivals worldwide. Their internal Creative Team needs a social-native creative leader who thrives in speed, ambiguity, and cultural relevance — someone comfortable publishing something scrappy in an hour as much as shaping larger creative directions.
The Community You'll Join
This Creative Lead reports to the Director, Social Creative and works PST hours. You'll be part of a fast-moving, multidisciplinary team focused on real-time storytelling — listening, responding, and creating in culture as it happens. This is a role for someone who lives at the intersection of culture, community, and content, with strong instincts for what matters right now, why it matters, and whether a brand should participate at all.
A Typical Day
- Monitor culture, conversation, and platform trends to identify real-time opportunities for Airbnb to show up
- Concept, create, and publish content quickly — often within hours, not days
- Shoot, edit, write, and produce scrappy content when needed; lead others to do the same at scale
- Partner with social, brand, comms, and legal teams to move ideas from concept to live execution responsibly
- Balance speed with judgment — knowing when to act fast and when to hold
Who You Are
You've created social content for global brands that drove real-time engagement and cultural relevance — not just impressions. You're deeply fluent in Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and you understand how behavior, tone, and expectations shift in real time across each. Reactive work demands strong creative judgment, a clear brand POV, and confidence making decisions with incomplete information.
Why Airbnb
Work PST hours from San Francisco, steward one of the world's most beloved brands, and help Airbnb show up in culture the moment it happens.
