SGS — the world's leading testing, inspection, and certification company — is looking for an Environmental Engineer in Doha, Qatar to deliver air quality and environmental monitoring services across industrial and construction projects.
The Role & Impact
You'll be in the field where environmental compliance actually happens: measuring stack emissions, assessing ambient air quality, checking indoor environments, and sampling groundwater to make sure projects meet regulatory standards and international methods. Your reports and monitoring plans directly support clients' permit conditions and environmental obligations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct stack emission monitoring and performance testing to assess air pollutant emissions from industrial sources, using USEPA standard methods
- Perform ambient air quality monitoring with real-time and integrated sampling techniques to evaluate environmental conditions and regulatory compliance
- Carry out indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments to identify workplace exposure risks
- Execute groundwater sampling — collection, preservation, chain-of-custody management, and interpretation of analytical results
- Prepare environmental compliance reports, monitoring reports, and technical documentation
- Develop Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP) and Operational Environmental Management Plans (OEMP) in line with project requirements, permit conditions, and industry best practices
What You Bring
- Minimum bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering (master's degree preferred)
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in environmental monitoring and compliance
- Familiarity with USEPA methods and environmental sampling standards
- Comfort operating in extreme climatic and physically demanding field environments (medical and physical capability is required)
- Strong technical writing skills for compliance and monitoring documentation
