Finance Data Manager — dbt, Python & Databricks at Octopus Energy (London)

Their Services division (heat pumps, solar, EV charging) is scaling fast, and they need a Finance Data Manager to keep the numbers — and the decisions built on them — fast, clean, and honest.
The Role
You'll sit at the intersection of finance, data, and commercial strategy, working with supply chain, commercial, and operations teams to turn raw cost data into C-suite-ready insight. This is a role for someone who loves both the numbers and the tooling behind them — building reporting that scales as the business does.
What You'll Do
- Own and improve monthly financial reporting for the C-suite
- Build and optimise reporting across multiple streams of cost information
- Use dbt and semantic layers to power AI-enabled dashboards and visualisations
- Analyse commercial and operational performance to find growth and optimisation opportunities
- Partner with supply chain and operations on decisions that improve competitiveness and scalability
The Tech Stack
Python (main language), dbt for modelling, Databricks on the data lake, Kubernetes, Spark/SparkSQL, Airflow + Astronomer, Terraform, Lightdash, and Parquet/Delta on S3. You'll be fluent in SQL, comfortable building robust pipelines, and happy in a scripting language.
