SumUp, the global fintech empowering small businesses to accept payments anywhere, is hiring a Junior People Ops & Payroll Partner in Berlin. This is a true hybrid role — part People Operations, part Payroll — one of the few positions at SumUp where you build expertise across both disciplines while supporting German employees through their entire journey.

What You'll Do

Handle People Operations tasks across the employee lifecycle: hires, changes and leavers
Prepare and maintain accurate employee documentation and records in Workday
Answer everyday People Ops and payroll questions from Germany-based employees
Prepare and check payroll inputs ahead of monthly deadlines alongside the Senior Payroll Partner
Support payroll reconciliations and recurring administrative tasks
Help simplify People Ops and payroll processes as your familiarity grows

What You Bring

First experience in People Operations, HR or payroll — or strong adjacent admin experience
High accuracy and discretion when handling employee data
Good communication skills in English; German is a plus
An eagerness to learn both the people side and the numbers side of HR
