Lead Product Manager, Payments (Finance Infrastructure) — London, UK
About the Opportunity
Monzo — the digital bank that has redefined UK banking — is hiring a Lead Product Manager for its Payments Platform area, working most closely with the Finance Infrastructure squad. The squad sits in Payments but partners deeply with Finance teams to build the systems, abstractions, and capabilities Monzo needs to operate safely, scale efficiently, and expand into new markets. Based in London with a package of £125,000–£145,000 plus equity and incentive awards.
The Role & Impact
You'll work on foundational financial infrastructure: the ledgers, data, controls, reporting, reconciliation, and platform capabilities that help Monzo understand, account for, and manage money across the bank. This is a role for someone who gets genuinely excited by complex, technical infrastructure — the work is often behind the scenes, but it's business-critical: it helps Monzo scale, launch new products and markets, support Finance, and keep the bank running safely.
You'll Play a Key Role By…
- Defining the product strategy and roadmap for Finance Infrastructure within Payments Platform
- Partnering closely with Engineering, Finance, and Payments leaders
- Building the systems and capabilities that underpin safe, efficient bank operations
- Enabling Monzo to scale and launch into new markets
What We're Looking For
- Senior product leadership experience, ideally in fintech, payments, or complex technical infrastructure
- A genuine appetite for deep, behind-the-scenes platform work
- Strong stakeholder management across engineering and finance
- A track record of shipping business-critical systems
Payments is at the heart of Monzo — how customers move, receive, spend, and manage their money. If you want to build the financial infrastructure of a world-class bank, this is the role.
