The Role

Remote is hiring a Senior Product Manager, APIs — a senior IC role for someone with genuinely high technical depth. You'll trade management scope for depth, partnering with your Engineering Team Lead and Staff Engineers on architecture and technical direction as a peer. Your mission: own your product area end to end — not just the software, but the full experience customers and internal teams get from it, including the API surface other teams and integrators build on.

What You'll Do

Form independent, well-reasoned technical opinions and hold your own in design reviews as a peer
Prototype and write code to de-risk ideas and answer open questions — rather than defaulting to meetings
Own products where APIs are the product surface: design contracts, guide versioning and backwards compatibility, own the developer experience
Root-cause problem solving: sit with specialists and ops teams, observe real workflows, prioritize where the pain actually is
Own adoption and hypercare, not just delivery — is what you shipped actually being used months later?
Collaborate with payroll and tax experts and cross-functional teams to satisfy critical business requirements

What You Bring

Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code is required — you can autonomously build, debug and ship functional code or prototypes
Product management experience at a high-growth company, ideally in payroll, HR, benefits or fintech
Great strategic and tactical judgment, with demonstrable results that moved a product forward
A strong sense of product design (UX) and business-level English
