About the Opportunity
Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East — ride-hailing, food & grocery delivery, payments and more, across 70+ cities in 10 countries. They're now entering an AI-powered chapter and looking for senior, hands-on technology leaders to shape the future of engineering in the region.
The Role & Impact
This is a hands-on, individual-contributor leadership role — not a people-management position. You will still write code, design systems, and lead through technical depth and execution. You'll shape engineering culture and technical foundations while building and scaling complex platforms in a high-growth environment.

- Design and scale complex engineering systems, platforms and infrastructure
- Apply AI to streamline operations, enhance customer experience, and reimagine internal systems
- Lead through technical excellence — architecture, code quality and delivery
- Mentor senior engineers through your craft, not through headcount

- Proven track record of building and scaling complex systems in high-growth tech environments
- Deep hands-on engineering expertise (system design, backend/platform engineering)
- Strong bias for execution and technical leadership
