The Gig
Airbnb's Integrations & Application Engineering team owns how the company's enterprise systems talk to each other. This is a hybrid IC + people-leadership role: you'll set technical direction, own delivery, and still write and review code yourself — while growing a team of engineers around you.
What You'll Actually Do
- Lead the Finance & ERP integration practice: run initiatives in parallel, own the systems and processes your team supports
- Balance management with hands-on work — building complex integrations, backend services, APIs, and MCPs
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, and cross-functional teams to turn requirements into integrations, automations, and reporting
- Coach engineers through design reviews, architecture discussions, and career development
- Own month-end financial integrations and reporting, proactively surfacing and fixing gaps
- Explore the GenAI landscape and build tools with Claude Code that extend what the team can do
