Technical Accountant — Marshmallow (London, Hybrid) — Group Accounting Expert

About the Role
This is a senior individual contributor role — the Controllership team's primary technical accounting expert. You'll own the most complex, judgement-intensive accounting areas across the Group: the UK insurance broker, claims handling, car finance with its SPV structure, and the Group holding company. You'll be the go-to resource for the team, business stakeholders, and external auditors, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller.
What You'll Own
- Group accounting policies across all entities, aligned with FRS 102 and regulatory requirements
- Lead the FRS 102 (2026 amendments) impact assessment and transition — revised revenue recognition and expected credit loss provisions
- Be the authoritative voice on share-based payments, capital development, and other complex areas
- Close legacy accounting gaps, maintain audit readiness, and build controls that scale
- Coach more junior colleagues and communicate clearly to senior Finance stakeholders
