The Role
As Backend Engineer on the Payments Platform in Dubai, you'll help build out innovative features, prepare the technology to scale, and shape an engineering organization that bright minds across the region aspire to join. The team is small, so this is a role for creative thinkers who love solving hard problems and building from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Own and ship end-to-end reliable, scalable, maintainable software that keeps users' funds safe — from design to implementation, polish, shipping, monitoring and measurement
- Collaborate with product, design, operations and engineering to decide which features deliver the most value
- Design and build a cloud-native platform with monitoring, observability, security, scalability, elasticity and testing built in
- Improve CI/CD workflows to reduce time-to-market for new features
- Help shape engineering culture through good practices and knowledge-sharing
What Would Amaze Us
- 3+ years developing software; experience with systems that handle money is a big plus
- Experience with Node.js, GraphQL, Postgres, ElasticSearch or Kafka
- A track record of shipping and maintaining complex backends
- Ownership mindset, clean code discipline, and strong communication
- Based in — or willing to relocate to — the UAE
