Rotating Equipment Senior Manager (Oil & Gas, TA2) — Sur, Oman
About the Opportunity
SGS — the world's leading Testing, Inspection, and Certification company, with over 2,500 laboratories and facilities across 115 countries — is looking for a Rotating Equipment Senior Manager to provide technical leadership and independent assurance across the OLNG growth project in Sur, Oman. This is a senior technical authority role for a major LNG project, based in the Project Office in Sur with frequent business travel.
The Role & Impact
You'll act as Technical Authority (TA 2) for Rotating Equipment, governing EPC deliverables, vendors, and compliance with OLNG standards and lifecycle reliability objectives. Your mandate: zero incidents at the Qalhat LNG Complex during the project phase, with process safety, asset integrity, and machinery reliability protected across every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Develop and implement the highest standards of rotating equipment engineering excellence across engineering, production, maintenance, and technology
- Project Delivery: Oversee concept/FEED, detailed design, and interdisciplinary interfaces (civil/structural, mechanical, I&C, telecoms); validate vendor data and OEM integration
- Assurance: Review P&IDs, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments, and HAZOP analyses; oversee troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis for reliability incidents
- Governance: Manage interfaces with owners, EPC/EPCM, OEMs, utilities, insurers, and operations; provide executive-level reporting and decision support
- Team Building: Build, coach, and performance-manage the rotating equipment team, developing succession and capability
What You Bring
- Deep rotating equipment expertise in oil & gas EPC projects, with mastery-level skills in selected equipment
- Fluency in load flow studies, fault level calculations, and protection relay grading
- Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and practices for oil & gas EPC
- Experience as a technical authority or senior machinery engineer on large LNG or energy projects
