The Role & Impact
The safety and security of Captains, customers and colleagues is a strategic priority at Careem. As a Safety & Security Lead in Dubai, you'll execute safety operations on the ground, coordinate incident response end-to-end, and work closely with internal teams to make Careem the safest platform in the region. You'll be the first point of coordination when incidents happen — triaging, logging and managing cases from intake through resolution within defined SLAs.
What You'll Do
- Run day-to-day safety operations in line with policies and standard operating procedures
- Lead incident response and case management: triage, document, escalate and close cases on time
- Support Captains and customers involved in incidents with empathy, coordinating assistance end-to-end
- Lead investigations into safety issues and summarise findings for senior stakeholders
- Maintain accurate incident records, prepare safety reports and dashboards, and surface trends to leadership
- Identify process improvements and support rollout of new safety initiatives, campaigns and training across all markets
What You'll Need
- At least 4 years in safety operations and incident management, with direct experience in road safety operations
- Experience in transportation, mobility or delivery industries is strongly desired
- Strong discipline with SOPs, SLAs and metric-driven performance in a fast-paced environment
- Empathy and composure when handling sensitive situations; calm under pressure
- Proficiency in Google Workspace; familiarity with Jira or similar tools is an advantage
- Fluent English (verbal and written); Urdu or Arabic skills are a plus
- An AI & optimisation mindset — a genuine drive to leverage new tools to automate and scale operations
