talabat — the leading on-demand food and Q-commerce app in the region, operating in eight countries since 2004 — is hiring a Senior Data Scientist (AI & ML) for its global AI hub in Dubai. As the leading delivery company in the region, talabat is advancing its platform to become far more intelligent in how it understands and serves millions of users.
This role sits at the heart of that mission: designing, building, and shipping the machine learning and generative AI systems that power decisions across product and business.
The Role & Impact
You'll own a domain end-to-end, working closely with product and business managers as part of a talented team of data scientists and ML engineers. Many initiatives focus on leveraging Generative AI and LLMs for data enrichment, smart content understanding, and automated decision-making at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Frame ambiguous business problems as well-defined ML/data science problems with clear success criteria
- Design, build, and ship end-to-end ML and GenAI systems in production — pipelines, feature engineering, training, serving, and monitoring
- Leverage LLMs for data enrichment, smart content understanding, and automated decision-making
- Design and analyze experiments (A/B and multivariate) to rigorously measure impact
- Build and maintain the data models, features, and pipelines that power model training
- Mentor other data scientists and elevate ML engineering best practices
What You Bring
- Strong production ML experience: architecture, clean scalable code, and reliable model deployment
- Hands-on GenAI/LLM experience in production systems
- Rigorous experimental design and measurement skills
