Senior Full Stack Engineer (React & Next.js) - Fanatics Markets
About the Opportunity
Fanatics is building a leading global digital sports platform, igniting the passions of sports fans worldwide. We're now expanding our Fanatics Markets division—a real-money prediction and trading app where users can invest in moments they care about, from sports to entertainment and beyond. As we scale, we're looking for a talented Full Stack Engineer to join our early-stage product team and help shape the future of prediction markets.
The Role & Impact
As a Software Engineer III, you'll be an individual contributor responsible for building and maintaining features for our web application. You'll work in a fast-paced 0→1 environment, contributing high-quality code and driving best practices for AI-assisted development. You'll help build systems that handle millions of events daily, partnering with product and design to deliver engaging, performant, and accessible features.
Key Focus Areas
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable web experiences using React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Contribute to the technical evolution of our Markets web platform, ensuring performance, accessibility, and responsiveness.
- Implement features end-to-end: from implementation to instrumentation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration based on metrics.
- Maintain experimentation capabilities (feature flags, A/B tests) to validate ideas quickly and safely.
- Integrate with backend APIs and collaborate with platform teams to build reliable, observable systems.
- Make contributions to our Go backend as needed.
- Participate in code reviews, focusing on code quality, readability, and maintainability.
- Leverage AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development while maintaining high standards for security and correctness.
- Help improve team standards for AI usage, including prompt patterns and validation strategies.
Required Experience
- 3+ years building user-facing web applications with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Proficiency in React, component-driven development, and state management (e.g., Zustand, TanStack Query).
- Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript language features and best practices.
- Experience with performance optimization, responsive design, accessibility, and web standards.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and safe deployment practices.
- Team-first mentality with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Experience using AI tools to ship production code and ability to discuss how they improve workflow.
- Clear communication of technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

- Startup experience.
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.
- Experience with real-money transaction systems and regulatory compliance.
- Background in improving engineering productivity.
- Interest in learning and influencing technical direction.
