The Role
Reporting to Monzo's Director of Legal for Payments & Business Banking, you'll act as a legal business partner for the teams building these initiatives — helping Monzo innovate responsibly while protecting customers. You'll navigate a rapidly evolving legal and regulatory landscape across payments, digital assets, and emerging financial technologies.
What You'll Do
- Support the payments business including digital assets and emerging payment technologies
- Advise teams across a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape
- Work at all levels — with Product Managers, Designers, Operations, Software Engineers, and Risk, FinCrime, and Compliance professionals
- Provide first-rate legal advice across Monzo's Product Collectives as part of a team of product lawyers
- Balance innovation with customer protection and regulatory responsibility
Who You Are
- Qualified lawyer with experience in payments, fintech, or financial services regulation
- Genuine interest in digital assets and emerging payment technologies
- Comfortable advising at speed in a fast-moving, high-standards environment
- Strong stakeholder skills — you work well across engineering, product, and risk teams
