Senior Security Engineer II — Careem (Karachi, Pakistan)

The Mission
As Senior Security Engineer II, you'll defend one of the region's largest consumer platforms: securing payments, ride-hailing, and delivery infrastructure used by millions daily.
What You'll Do
- Lead security operations: detection, incident response, and forensics across cloud and on-premise environments
- Hunt for and remediate vulnerabilities across applications, APIs, and infrastructure
- Build and automate security tooling — including AI-assisted workflows that make the team faster
- Embed secure-by-design practices with product and engineering teams
- Own security reviews for new features, vendors, and integrations
What You Bring
- 5+ years in security engineering, with strong cloud security experience (AWS preferred)
- Hands-on depth in at least one of: application security, incident response, or infrastructure security
- Solid understanding of OWASP, threat modeling, and modern identity/payments security
- Scripting/automation skills (Python, Go, or similar)
- A collaborative mindset — you raise the bar for the whole team, not just yourself
