Staff Fullstack Engineer, Data Products — Build GitLab's Knowledge Graph & Data Marketplace (Bangalore)
GitLab — the DevSecOps platform trusted by 50M+ users and more than half of the Fortune 100 — is building a Data Insights Platform and GitLab Knowledge Graph, and they need a Staff Fullstack Engineer to anchor it. This is a 0-to-1 space: you'll shape what gets built, make early architectural choices, and guide work from specification through production health.
The Mission
Turn software delivery data into reliable, actionable intelligence for customers and internal teams. You'll own outcomes across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and Self-Managed environments, partnering closely with Product, Design, and backend teams.
What You'll Build
- Knowledge Graph ingestion — architect how GitLab and third-party data is ingested, modeled, and synchronized as a near-real-time graph of the development ecosystem
- Data Marketplace — let customers consume GitLab data through Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery without engineering handoffs
- Observability data publishing — expose GitLab data via OpenTelemetry and the APIs used for data access
- Integrations — coordinate with Jira, observability tools, Zendesk, and ServiceNow to add business context
What You'll Bring
- Staff-level experience owning product or platform systems end to end
- Strong fullstack skills with proficiency in Go, Ruby, and Node
- Depth in at least one area: reporting/metrics platforms, graph data systems, or warehouse integrations (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
- Experience with production data ingestion, system integrations, and multi-tenant systems across SaaS and self-managed
- Strong judgment in ambiguity — making tradeoffs, creating clarity, moving early-stage work forward
You'll also mentor senior and intermediate engineers through design reviews and pairing, and resolve cross-team coordination with the Graph Backend, AI Platform, and Infrastructure teams.
